The Potomac Valley Youth Orchestra is pleased to announce some exciting news about the 2016 – 2017 Concert Season. First, we would like to welcome Dr. Tzu-Ching Tai to PVYO as Preparatory Orchestra Conductor. She brings a wealth of experience in music education, string pedagogy, performance, and education research. We are delighted to welcome her to the PVYO team!
Second, we welcome Robert Dahlin back to the podium as PVYO Symphony Orchestra Conductor! For the past three years, Mr. Dahlin has worked to develop and grow our middle school wind band offerings; establishing and developing the PVYO Concert Band. It has been a great success; providing wonderful opportunities for wind students in the Washington D.C area. For the coming season, Mr. Dahlin will lead the Symphony Orchestra as he continues to train our musicians. Mr. Dahlin and PVYO are thrilled that Mr. Herman has agreed to remain on staff to work with the Symphony strings during full string sectionals and assist PVYO with other aspects of the organization.
Finally, we would like to welcome Mr. Jon Eising to PVYO as Concert Band Conductor. Mr. Eising is Instrumental Music Department Chair at James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring Maryland; home to the Signature Program for the Arts and Humanities for Montgomery County Public Schools. Under Mr. Eising’s leadership, we look forward to a new chapter of growth and development for the PVYO Concert Band.
As we look to the 2016-2017 season, we are very excited about the wealth of knowledge and experience these fine conductors and educators bring to our students!
